Well, at least they came to Wakapuaka and North Nelson Country Club.
A big thanks to our friends, The Plinkers Ukelele group for their fabulous infusion of joy, laughter, and good old fashioned entertainment at our third open mic night. These guys really know how to do music and fun… please all of you Plinkers, if you are reading this, consider becoming members, we need more like Earl and co!
Sadly there were only two acts from the NNCC members, but at least we tried, and brought our own flavour to the evening. So thanks girls, you were awesome!!
A tribute was made in honour of the 100th birthday of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, by one of our members who is rather fond of the bard.
All in all a great evening, and I don’t know what the Plinkers get up to at New Year, but t’would be fabulous to havre them at our annual party!
Huge thanks to Mort, committee member extraordinaire, who it is rumored, has become a rare species at his home, as he is always working away for the club! Thanks for lending him to us Linda, you guys rock!
Next Friday, 24th October, we will be hosting our third Open Mic night! These nights have proven to be a great success. Once again we will be welcoming the multi talented Plinkers Ukelele group from Nelson. Please come along, support the event, and have a go…you don’t have to be a musical star, stories, local history, poems, jokes, impersonations, magic, card tricks… all are welcome!
Here are some photos of the last event to be going on with:
We are trying hard to improve the club, and give our members what they want. To this end we have created a questionnaire which we hope you will take the time to download and fill it, and return to the club on your next visit, or by post. If you can think of any events or other improvements that you would like to see please let us know!
Please click on link below to download the questionnaire.
We had another fun quiz night on Saturday. The quiz was hosted in great style by Mort, and his very capable assistants, Pip and Wynn. The grand prize was carried off by T Rex, with defending champions, The Pom Poms, coming in a close second.
Thanks to all of you who attended and supported this event!
